The urgency of addressing the climate crisis in the Pacific is evident from declarations by Pacific leaders, highlighting climate change as the greatest threat to the region’s livelihoods and wellbeing. The 2022 IPCC report underscores the need for immediate action to prevent irreversible climate disasters, particularly emphasizing the significance of understanding these impacts on Pacific communities’ security, culture, and survival.
This study aims to comprehensively assess the climate crisis’s impact in the Pacific, examining adaptation and resilience strategies, including indigenous knowledge and innovation. Through collaboration among diverse researchers from across the Pacific, this study seeks to synthesize expert findings and address the multifaceted challenges faced by communities across 16 Pacific countries.
